Diesel and All Terrain Scissor Lift Hire

Unsealed ground is where a diesel scissor lift earns its keep. Electric slab models are built for concrete floors, but gravel, compacted fill and muddy site access need four-wheel drive, rough terrain tyres and extra ground clearance. That’s what our all terrain scissor lift hire range is built around, with platform heights from 7.92m up to 16.15m.

Frequently Asked Questions

Generally no. Diesel engines produce exhaust that builds up in enclosed spaces, so indoor work calls for one of our electric models.

Capacity varies by model. Our 26ft unit carries 567kg, the 32ft takes 450kg and the 40ft takes 363kg, while the 43ft and 53ft models both handle 680kg. That figure covers people, tools and materials combined.

Start with the height of the work, then check access:

  • Single-storey sheds and low walls: the 26ft gives 7.92m of platform height.
  • Warehouse walls and two-storey facades: the 32ft or 40ft.
  • Taller tilt-panel and commercial structures: the 43ft or 53ft, if your site has room for a 2.29m-wide machine.

Scissor lifts sit outside the high risk work licence scheme. Most Melbourne sites still require operators to hold a Yellow Card, and Duralift can point you to accredited training through our RTO partners.

It can drive over rough ground, but raising the platform needs firm, near-level footing. The tilt alarm stops elevation once the machine sits beyond its limit. For sloping sites, our Athena bi-levelling models are the safer option.

On our own trucks, with a two-hour delivery window. We need a firm, clear area to unload and a path wide enough for the machine to drive to the work.

A scissor lift on rubber tracks instead of wheels. Tracks spread the machine's weight and grip on soft or muddy ground where tyres would sink. Speak to our team about availability before you book.
